Sedgemoor Open & Top Gun UK
The Sedgemoor Open evolved by combining the fun flying aspects from Top Gun UK and the Western Open. Held over a summer weekend, the event was open to visitors and club members, and any type of RC powered fixed wing aircraft could be entered.
The best and original Top Gun UK jet flying competition was organised by this club from 1991 to 1999. Many of the worlds top jet jockeys battled it out over the skies of Westonzoyland, for the prestigious Top Gun UK trophy. The most exciting part of the competition was the high speed - low pass, when speeds over 250 mph were recorded.

Wessex Scale League
This is a local flying competition which originated from local meetings started in
1971. Its aim is to promote scale modelling on an inter-club basis. The SRCFC joined
the league in 1999. The emphasis is on flying, with models built to a lose stand-off
scale standard. The schedule is very straightforward; taxi & take-off, four optional
manoeuvres including one non-aerobatic manoeuvre, a tough & go, and finally, a rectangular
circuit & landing. The club is not currently involved in this competition series.
